Important Dates

Spring Break:  March 9-13 (no school)
Prom:  April 25 at Christy Banquet Center from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m.  Doors will close at 7:30 p.m.
Prom tickets will be sold before and after school March 16-20 in the commons.
Tickets cost $45 each or $85 a couple.

Prom will be here before you know it! Remember ALL fines and fees must be paid and all make-up hours completed before you can purchase a prom ticket.

FFA Honors

Winfield FFA is making history again. Three FFA members will be recognized on stage at the Missouri State FFA Convention in April in Columbia. Congratulations to Sarah Kight, Nicole Wiegand, and Brandon Mallinckrodt. This is the first time WHS FFA has had 3 members receive this recognition.

Thank you parents for participating in the calendar survey. As a result, we will continue to have two early release days per month and will remain as consistent as possible with the first & third Wednesdays of the month.

Make-Up Hours Schedule


· Monday/Wednesday (RM 402 – Mr. Smith) Tuesday/Thursday (RM 407 – Mr. Yarolimek) until 4:30PM.

· Monday /Wednesday Mornings from 6:45-7:30am (RM 402 – Mr. Smith)

· Early Release afternoons from 12:45-3:00pm (LIBRARY)

and from 3:00-4:30pm (RM 402– Mr. Smith).

· Saturdays Beginning, March 7 (RM 302– Ms. Elston)  from 8:00am – 12:00pm or 8:00am – 3:00pm.

There will be NO make-up hours during March 8th-15th (Spring Break)

FCA Letterman Patches

FCA letterman patches will be ordered next week. Please have the money to Mr. Neels by Thursday March 5th. Cost of the patch is $18.00.

Choir Honors

On Tuesday, March 3rd the Concert Choir received a 2 (Outstanding) rating for their performance. While they didn't get the coveted 1 they wanted, they improved their sight reading score from a 4 to a 2. That was a lot of hard work and we are all very proud! Congratulations to you all.


High School Band Concert

Thursday, March 5th 7:00 pm in the High School Gym!


Advisory Challenge

There will be an advisory canned food drive challenge starting Monday, February 23rd through March 6th. Bring your canned goods to your advisory class. Your advisory teacher will have more details but the prize will be a chance to throw pies at Mr. Alderson!

Senior Pictures

If you would like a different senior picture for the yearbook rather than the one taken on senior picture day, Mrs. Hodak needs the alternate photo by Friday, February 20.   A baby picture is also needed by this date as well.  (Please make sure names are on the back of the baby pictures.)
