Spring Fling Spirit Week
Celebrate Spring Fling Spirit Week March 10th-14th
The Patrick Schimmel Basketball Game will begin at 5:30 with the Spring Fling Dance following from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Patrick Schimmel Basketball Game
The Annual Patrick Schimmel Staff vs. Seniors Basketball game is scheduled for Friday, March 14. The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds go to fund scholarships for WHS students. Passes will not be honored.
Congratulations to the following band students who received a Superior 1 rating this weekend at the District Solo and Ensemble Festival and are eligible for State Competition.

Congratulations to the choir students who participated in Solo and Ensemble Contest this past Saturday. Everyone worked hard and performed well. Our girls' ensemble performed their hearts out, despite some adversity. We are proud of you. Marissa Burch and Mary Fleming both received a 2 (excellent) on their solos. And Meghan Hopkins and Eryn Brewington both received a 1 (superior.) Both Meghan and Eryn will now represent our school at State Solo and Ensemble in April. Way to go, girls!
The Winter Guard also Performed Saturday at Francis Howell North High School and placed 3rd in their class of 8 teams and was 2nd overall in General Effect and Visual Design. Way to go Guard!
Change in Procedure
In order for a student to leave school during the school day a parent/guardian must come to the office and sign out the student in person. This change has been made to ensure the safety of our students. We want to encourage parents to make necessary appointments during our days off and twice monthly half days.
Mark These Dates on Your Calendar
Mark April 25 & 26 on your calendars because the WHS Drama Club will be presenting "How the Other Half Dies" by Eddie McPherson. The play will be held at the Intermediate School beginning at 7:00 p.m. each evening. Admission will be $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. All Winfield R-IV District faculty and staff will receive a free admission.
NHS State Conference
On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week the Winfield High School National Honor Society attended the State Conference. While there, they received the following awards:
They enjoyed great keynote speakers, break-out sessions, and fantastic fellowship with students from across the state.

Mock Trial Rehearsal
